Responsible for supporting the ongoing and ad hoc reporting needs of Health Care Services operations and business implementation projects. Using knowledge of business practices, data structure and reporting applications, provide meaningful operational and performance metrics related to authorization management, utilization management, case management and clinical services business operations. With the goal of automating reporting accessible to the business units, daily work is a combination of new requests, maintaining existing reporting, and regulatory reporting. Participate in projects by identifying the connections between work flow, system documentation and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Production and dissemination of operational and programmatic reports to Health Care Services business units and/or management teams. Includes designing reports, defining meaningful performance metrics, using the appropriate application to make the reports accessible, and adhering to measurement standards. Ensure data quality and provide analytical interpretation of results.
Development of ad hoc reports as requested by Health Care Services directors and managers, including appropriate definition of selection criteria and identification of required data elements and reporting application.
Based on an understanding of data and business processes, collaborate with Health Care Services team members to identify and enhance reporting capabilities.
Support business implementation of Health Care Services division or Corporate projects.
Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree in business or health related field preferred
EXPERIENCE: (Years of experience)
5+ years of experience in an analytic and data management environment, preferably in a health care or managed care setting.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to effectively support analytic and data needs using a variety of query tools and/or applications, including: MS Access, Crystal, Cognos, Visual Studio and/or Report Builder.
Ability to format and present meaningful information and reports to the business user/client.
Ability to ensure data quality by applying data validation and testing techniques, relative to the development of data analysis and reporting.
Quantitative measurement skills
Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple demands and balance multiple priorities.
Must be able to work cooperatively as a team member. Regular interface with various levels of staff and management is required as well.
Ability to explain influences of work flow and data structure on reporting capabilities.
