Job DescriptionFinance Accounting ManagerNO PHONE CALLS OR AGENCIES PLEASE.SummaryAs a key asset in the future growth of Selecta Biosciences, this combined finance and accounting position is responsible for spear-heading the company's financial forecasts, annual budgeting process, and operating plan variance analysis. Position provides financial consulting, operational and strategic support to senior management including preparing board presentations, financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis, accounting operations and other projects requested by senior management. This function acts as the analytical and operational engine of the company to provide insights and to help support 'optimal' business operations and decision making. The position reports to the Controller. Principal Duties/Responsibilities: Develop key performance indicators including cash flow, budget to actuals, and headcount trackingDevelop financial modeling tools and analyses to support strategic initiativesAdminister equity grants for Stock Options and ESPP Administer the Company's ERP (NetSuite) system, setting up new users, correcting issues, developing reports, plan and implement enhancements, train new usersProvide analysis, reporting, and monitoring of budgets/forecasts. Provide accurate and timely financial recommendationsMonitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variancePartner with departments to review large clinical projects with in-depth forecasts to actual budgetingWork with operations leaders on quarterly cost estimates for CROs enabling proper US GAAP expensing and cash flow analysisAnalyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expendituresAnalyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes Contribute to preparation of presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management TeamRun Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis as neededWeekly ACH and Check runsTreasury operations to include managing cash positions, investments, and cash flow forecastingSupport closing and SEC reporting process, including review of reconciliationsProcess bi-weekly payroll in partnership with HRSpecial projects and analysis as requiredEducation and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred5+ years of combined experience in Finance and AccountingStrong leadership skills required. Experience in Biotech industry preferred.Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivatedDemonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacityAdditional:We are a rapidly growing organization in a highly competitive industry.
