JOB SUMMARY:

Doble Engineering is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. The right candidate will help guide and shape the next generation of Doble Field Force product offerings. The DevOps Engineer is a bridge between Software Engineering,

Software Quality Assurance, IT Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Care. The Senior DevOps Engineer will also be called on to manage and support customers from a Tier-III (L3) perspective.

The ideal candidate is not only technical, but also energetic and passionate about delivering turn-key solutions and then managing them from an operational perspective. This is a great opportunity to learn all aspects of the products that we deliver in an innovative

**Please note: this position is presently located in Watertown, MA but will be relocating to Marlborough, MA in the fall of 2019. All applicants must have reliable transportation to both locations. The Marlborough office will not be accessible via public transit.

Essential Job Functions

The Senior DevOps Engineer Specific tasks include:

Help lead the design, development, configuration, and delivery of Doble Field Force products

Assist and support the operational framework of the Field Force products

Be looked upon as a Microsoft Windows subject matter expert

Collection and analysis of customer specific configurations

Metric collection and analysis of product usage and configuration

Follow up on technical cases including proper escalation and management of the case until closure.

Provide Customer education where needed due to gaps in product knowledge.

Perform End-to-End System Level Testing as necessary for production deployment and acceptance

Assist in Defect Tracking and Reporting

Participate in Product Design and Feature Enhancement Meetings

Reproduction of customer environments on lab setup; work with L3 support to isolate and solve problems; recommend potential new solutions.

Work directly with vendors to support 3rd Party integrations

Function with minimal supervision

Travel requirement: less than 5%

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Ability to assess new technologies and testing of those implementations

Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Strong passion for assuring product quality.

Familiarity with systems management

Familiarity with cloning of systems

Aptitude for automation of tasks and their validation

Familiarity with one or more scripting languages such as TCL, Python and Perl.

Ability to express ideas clearly in written and oral communications.

Project skills including planning and estimation

Experience with interfacing directly with customers

3+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Engineering or IT Engineering with an appreciation of production environments, preferably in a Windows environment

OTHER HELPFUL EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE (NOT REQUIRED):

Experience working in waterfall and agile engineering environments

Experience developing Windows applications or extensive experience configuring windows

Experience working with Atlassian Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket products

Experience working with electric power utilities a plus.

Proficient with MS Office Suite. (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Visio)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Strong problem solving skills.

Must thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment.

Capable of multitasking between projects and departments.

Must be able to assemble facts from various areas, analyze data, and provide informed recommendations to management

Requires strong computer & phone skills and high level experience in a customer technical support role.

Must have the experience or ability to work through complex technical issues in a timely manner.

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks resulting in consistent productivity.

A self-starter able to work independently or as part of a team and comfortable interfacing with both upstream and downstream customers.

Must have excellent technical writing and oral communications skills and high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
